University of Washington Bothell students who serve as legislative interns in Olympia gain an inside look at politics and an inside track to public policy careers. This winter the University sent Shelby Lubchuk and Aysha Raza to the marbled halls of the Capitol for the 2017 regular session of the 65th Washington Legislature.

BOTHELL, Washington – Hung Cao, University of Washington Bothell electrical engineering assistant professor, has been awarded $549,000 from the National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER).

There are about 320 trees on the upland portion of the University of Washington Bothell campus above the wetlands. Students have started carefully measuring each one to create a database showing their utility to the ecosystem. 

More people are turning to crowdfunding to help pay unexpected medical bills, but University of Washington Bothell research shows the effort often falls short. The research was conducted by Nora Kenworthy, an assistant professor in nursing and health studies, and Lauren Berliner, an assistant professor in interdisciplinary arts and sciences.
