The University of Washington Bothell Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies program is seeking nominations for its first annual award in memory of Leslie Ashbaugh.  Ashbaugh was assistant vice chancellor for academic achievement and senior lecturer in the UW Bothell First Year Pre-Major Program in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences.

Under the Every Student Succeeds Act, chief state school officers have new responsibilites, but their formal powers are limited. The Center on Reinventing Public Education finds they can make a difference. CRPE is a research and policy analysis center at the University of Washington Bothell developing systemwide solutions for K–12 public education.

Two University of Washington Bothell computer scientists, Michael Stiber and Brent Lagesse, have won Fulbright scholar awards for advanced research in Europe.

People from the Arab world who travel to the West are more likely to have positive feelings about Western people, according to a study conducted by Karam Dana, the director of the Middle East Public Opinion Project at the University of Washington Bothell.
