The award recognizes extraordinary contributions to the field of higher education through leadership and service in NASPA and in the Latina/o Knowledge Community (LKC).

The LKC collaborates with other higher education and national partners to advance and support increased understanding of Latino/a issues and experiences. They actively promote the empowerment of NASPA members through education, research and mentoring, including advocacy and opportunities to connect with student affairs professionals locally and nationally.

Dominguez conducted a departmental assessment at UW Bothell that is currently displayed in the ground floor Discovery Hall display cases.

This assessment examined student employee learning through the work they do in UW Bothell Student Engagement & Activities. The students participated in surveys and focus groups. The collected data can be used to better understand student learning and to respond to student needs.

Dominguez will be celebrated at the Latina/o Knowledge Community awards ceremony at the 2017 NASPA National Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
