Administrative Leadership 

Students who select this track are preparing themselves for advanced leadership roles in complex organizations and communities where overseeing the work of nursing extends to overseeing and coordinating interprofessional teams, managing complex budgets, maintaining fiscal health and ensuring regulatory requirements comply, and guiding quality initiatives and improvement processes.

The curriculum is designed in collaboration with UW Bothell MBA professors and nurse executives to ensure the curriculum is relevant, engaging and develops students' skills in both business, leadership and nursing. The specific coursework is taught primarily by UW Bothell MBA professors and nursing faculty who have held executive nurse leadership roles. 

Students in this track achieve the following learning outcomes:

  • Guide complex organizations and communities 
  • Supervise and coordinate interprofessional teams
  • Manage fiscal health of organizations and complex budgets
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Guide quality initiatives and improvement processes.
  • Manage data to analyze individual and organizational outcomes

Curriculum and schedule overview

The course schedule is designed to be work-compatible and predictable. Courses meet only five times each quarter with in-person meetings scheduled for every-other Friday. The remaining coursework is online in a supportive and engaging online setting. In-person courses times are between the hours of 8:30 am-4:45 pm. Supplemental programming is offered during the in-person weeks from 5:00-6:30 pm. This curriculum is total 55 credit-hours.
