Administrative Leadership 

Within the Master of Nursing, this degree track prepares nurses for advanced leadership roles in complex organizations and communities where overseeing the work of nursing extends to overseeing and coordinating interprofessional teams, managing complex budgets, maintaining fiscal health and ensuring regulatory requirements are in compliance, and guiding quality initiatives and improvement processeses.

The coursework was designed in collaboration with UW Bothell MBA professors and nurse executives to ensure the curriculum is relevant, engaging and develops students' skills in both business, leadership and nursing. The specific coursework is taught primarily by UW Bothell MBA professors and nursing faculty who have held executive nurse leadership roles. 

Students gain the specific knowledge and skills needed for administrative leadership roles in budgeting and finance, process and project management, health informatics, and team development.

Curriculum and schedule overview

The course schedule is designed to be work-compatible and predictable. Courses meet only five times each quarter with in-person meeting scheduled for every-other Friday of the quarter. The remaining coursework is online in a supportive and engaging setting. In-person courses times are between the hours of 8:30 am to 4:45 pm throughout the program (bi-weekly: Fridays only).  This curriculum is 51-55 total credit-hours. *The Administrative Leadership coursework is currently under revision. Student admitted fall  2020  forward will enroll in the revised curriculum. The revision will result in an increase of credit-hours from 12 to 16-20 and the possibility of an additional leadership course. 51-55 total
