Susan Collins, Master of Nursing Graduate

Susan is Harborview Medical Center's first ever Magnet Coordinator!

Susan joined the MN program in 2017. She has been a nurse in the Trauma Surgical ICU at Harborview Medical Center for nearly 11 years, as a preceptor, charge nurse, and one of the first extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) specialists. Susan will now lead the way for Harborview Medical Center to earn American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Magnet Recognition® by highlighting nursing excellence and high-quality patient care delivery. As the Magnet Program Coordinator, Susan is responsible for analyzing nurse-sensitive metrics and quality indicators, coordinating the application writing team, and collaborating across the organization to achieve this designation. Susan shared that "...the UW Bothell MN program has prepared me to lead multidisciplinary teams, taught me important project management skills, and fostered the courage necessary to propel Harborview Medical Center towards this nationally-recognized hospital credential”.


Sarah Hopkins, Master of Nursing Graduate

She is a Certified Perioperative Registered Nurse by the Association of perioperative Registered Nurses, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality by the National Association for Healthcare Quality, Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk management by the American Hospital Association, and Board-Certified Nurse Executive by the American Nurses Association.
