{"id":20766,"date":"2021-09-17T10:40:46","date_gmt":"2021-09-17T10:40:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/?p=20766"},"modified":"2023-10-19T11:10:31","modified_gmt":"2023-10-19T18:10:31","slug":"podium-document-camera","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/it\/training-and-support\/teaching-learning\/podium-document-camera","title":{"rendered":"Using a Document Camera"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SimplicityCam Document camera<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the SimplicityCam document camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This tutorial will walk you through  turning on the device, applying necessary settings,<br>\nand successfully project documents during class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step #1 &#8211; Login onto the Podium Computer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>NetID or Guest Username &amp; Password}<br> NetID = NETID\\Net-ID\\Email address<br> Guest User Name is located on podium login document and dependent on building<br> Guest Password = Husky_One<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step #2 &#8211; Access the Touch Panel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On top of every podium you can find the touch panel. Tap the screen to begin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step #3 &#8211; Turn on projector<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Select Use Projector<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step #4 &#8211; Select source<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Select Show Computer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Select the Podium PC button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step #5 &#8211; Start document camera software<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On the podium Computer, Open XSight HD 2.5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step #6 &#8211; Turn on document camera<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure the power button is turned on.<br>\nIf not, press the Power button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A red glowing light will display over the button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step #7 &#8211; Close XSight window<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you start Xsight and see this window, click Exit.<br> Then verify that the device<br> is plugged into a USB port<br> and powered on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step #8 &#8211; Select video device<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Change Video Device to RecordxUSA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step #9 &#8211; Set additional options<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Select the Mirror and flip input video checkbox and under compression, select MJPG<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step #10 &#8211; Set up document<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Frame your document by physically moving the document camera around until desired fit is met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step #11 &#8211; Turn on full screen view<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To display in full screen,<br>\nclick the Expand Screen button. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You document will display on the computer\/screen for all students to see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When finished, press the Esc key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Document camera capture can be recorded using Panopto.
