Connecting to a UWB Printer

Connecting to a UWB networked printer

UW Bothell faculty and staff have access to a number of networked UWB printers across campus. Below you will find instructions on how to connect to these printers as well as how to save any print codes necessary for printing.

Adding printer to Windows computer

UW owned

  1. Connect to Husky OnNet (Big-IP Edge Client)
  2. Navigate to the start menu (the box next to the Start icon at the bottom left of the screen)
  3. Type \\printers into the search box and hit enter
  4. A list of accessible printers on campus should be visible. Note that the printers are named by location, which makes the printer of choice a bit easier to find.
  5. Double click each printer you wish to add.
  6. Select a default printer: after printers are added, they can be accessed by navigating to Devices and Printers from the start menu. From there, you can see each printer that you have access to, and can right click the desired printer to see the option set as default.

Personally owned

  1. Connect to Husky OnNet (Big-IP Edge Client)
  2. Navigate to the start menu (the box next to the Start icon at the bottom left of the screen)
  3. Type \\printers.uwb.edu to access the print server
  4. Log in with UWB domain credentials
  5. Type the username as uwb\username to ensure that it is on the correct domain
  6. Note that prompts for authentication will need to be fulfilled every time the printer is shut down to access the print queue
  7. After authentication is done successfully, the available printers should be visible.
  8. Select a default printer: after printers are added, they can be accessed by navigating to Devices and Printers from the start menu. From there, you can see each printer that you have access to, and can right click the desired printer to see the option set as default.
