macOS Monterey upgrade on UWB Mac computers
Intel-based Mac computers manage by UW Bothell IT can now use Managed Software Center (MSC) to upgrade to macOS Monterey. For M1-based Mac computers, please submit a request to us.

macOS Monterey is compatible with the following models, you can locate this information by clicking on the Apple logo on the menu bar and About This Mac.
- MacBook: Early 2016 to 2017
- MacBook Air: Early 2015 to 2020
- MacBook Pro: Early 2015 to 2020
- Mac mini: Late 2014 to 2018
- iMac: Late 2015 to 2020
- iMac Pro: Late 2017
- Mac Pro: Late 2013 or newer
From our evaluation, it is suggested to be installed on Mac computer with at least 16GB of memory. If you have any third-party software, please check with the software vendor for latest version.
Before performing any macOS upgrade, it is a good practice to have backup copies of your data. You may use the UW Udrive or an external disk drive. Please be sure to have at least 50GB of internal storage available on the Mac before upgrade.

After opened the Managed Software Center, you should see the Upgrade to macOS Monterey icon on the bottom. If the icon did not display under the Software section, you may need to check the Updates section and click on the Check button to obtain the latest information.

Once you are ready to upgrade the computer to macOS Monterey, you may click on the Update button. It will download the installer in the background and start the upgrade process. Please keep the Husky OnNet connection alive as well as a power source if it is a notebook computer.
