IT places a high value on professional development for every IT staff member. These activities are critical to keeping IT relevant and effective in our mission to better serve UW Bothell.
Our people are our most valuable resource and this plan is intended to help them be as successful as possible in their jobs. This program is intended to help employees hone existing job skills, update skills, gain new skills, and develop expertise in collaboration with local and national colleagues to advance IT’s ability to support the campus.
All IT staff work members work with their supervisors to create a written professional development plan each year. The plans include annual performance goals and planned activities to support staff members in achieving these goals. Activities include peer mentoring, on the job training and experience, self-guided learning, and formal training.
Professional development plans are reviewed and assessed annually as part of IT staff performance evaluations.
