Chosen from an impressive pool of 305 nominations, Collins was nominated by his mentees\u2014four of whom have been selected for Population Health Recognition Awards and will present their research at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/urs\/\">UW Undergraduate Research Symposium<\/a> on May 15. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Collins describes this honor as particularly meaningful. As a first-generation college student, he was first introduced to research in his junior year, an experience that drives his commitment for providing student research opportunities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Receiving this recognition validates my goal of making research accessible for students.
