The day was dedicated to <a href=\"\/news\/march-2016\/ashbaugh\">Dr. Leslie Ashbaugh<\/a>, beloved colleague who passed away last year. IAS affiliate faculty member <a href=\"\/wacc\/about-us\/karen\">Karen Rosenberg<\/a> shared memories of Leslie, and GWSS faculty coordinator <a href=\"\/ias\/faculty-and-staff\/julie-shayne\">Julie Shayne<\/a> presented two students with Leslie Ashbaugh Feminist Praxis in Education (LAFPIE) Awards. (GWSS faculty and staff named the award LAFPIE in honor of Leslie Ahsbaugh\u2019s witty sense of humor and love of pie.) This annual award recognizes GWSS students (majors or minors) who demonstrate inspiring and impactful feminist praxis during the course of their studies at UW Bothell. <a href=\"\/sea\/socialjustice\/sjo\">Social Justice Organizer<\/a> Kim Correa and UW Bothell Pride Alliance president <a href=\"\/ias-news\/january-2020\/outside-the-charmed-circle\">Colin Davis<\/a> were the award\u2019s inaugural winners. GWSS also thanked outgoing student representative <a href=\"\/ias-news\/april-2017\/kyra-laughlin-chancellors-medalist\">Kyra Laughlin<\/a> and welcomed incoming student representative <a href=\"\/orientation\/orientation-programs\/orientation-leaders\/shugla\">Shugla Kakar<\/a>.
