In response to those questions, faculty member\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/faculty.washington.edu\/beccap\/\">Becca Price<\/a>\u00a0and colleagues Anzela Niraula and Vasudha Sundaravaradan, developed a lesson to teach students about misinformation around COVID treatments\u00a0<em>(Niraula et al. 2023)<\/em>. In\u00a0<em>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/qubeshub.org\/community\/groups\/coursesource\/publications?id=3852&amp;tab_active=about&amp;v=1\">Good Drug, Bad Practice: Tackling the Ivermectin Fiasco<\/a>,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>students explore how incorrect and intentionally misleading statements have endangered people. So many folks bought into this information, that they sought Ivermectin as a treatment for COVID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This lesson teaches the basic biology of Ivermectin as a drug and how it is incompatible with COVID\u2014it works on nervous systems, and so can\u2019t work on viruses which don\u2019t even have cells.
