IAS faculty member Julie Shayne<\/a> (she\/her\/hers) was invited by SWS<\/a> president Dr. Roberta Villal\u00f3n to be a featured guest on the panel \u201cCelebrating Interdisciplinary Perspectives as Integral to Feminisms.\u201d Her paper was called \u201cReflections from a Feminist Editor: Blending Sociological Analysis and Feminist Theory to Create Interdisciplinary Texts and Pedagogy.\u201d In it, she argued that feminist sociologists must collaborate with colleagues in other disciplines, including librarians, and train students in interdisciplinary methods as an effective tactic for building academic and activist coalitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shayne drew on her publishing trajectory and pedagogical experiences, all deeply shaped by the last fifteen years of her career in IAS. The entire conference was hybrid, allowing speakers to join panels from as far away as Australia, to the Dominican Republic, to Turkey. Shayne\u2019s panel was livestreamed and will eventually be uploaded to the SWS\u2019s newly launched YouTube channel<\/a>. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
