They provide students, like Midia De Souza, the opportunity &#8211; and inspiration &#8211; to find meaningful ways to get involved on campus, and even give back to their own communities. <a data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=QpHHDLs8EGE\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Hear De Souza<\/a> describe how she\u2019s been impacted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De Souza is a double major in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/ias\/undergraduate\/majors\/law-economics-public-policy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Law, Economics &amp; Public Policy<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/ias\/undergraduate\/majors\/media-communication\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Media &amp; Communications Studies<\/a>, with a minor in Human Rights. She was awarded from the Worthington Endowed Scholarship and Washington D.C. Human Rights Seminar scholarship in 2019. De Souza\u2019s experiences activated her to help found Huskies Dream Team, which provides support to DACA and undocumented students. She has also been recognized as a 2020 <a data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/husky100\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Husky 100<\/a> recipient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The impact of a scholarship transcends beyond the financial award.
