Stephanie L\u00ea is the new Graduate Program Operations Manager and a proud double Husky alum, holding a B.A. in Educational Studies and an M.A. in Policy Studies from the University of Washington Bothell. She is currently serving as Secretary for the General Staff Organization (GSO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now in her ninth year at UW Bothell, Stephanie has grown through a wide range of roles, beginning as a Premajor Advisor and later serving in the School of Business, the School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences (IAS), and as a Senior Advisor in the centralized advising restructure. She now returns to IAS to support the school\u2019s graduate programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a first-generation college graduate, Stephanie brings a deep understanding of the challenges many students face when navigating higher education. This experience fuels her commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments. Her academic and professional work centers on AI literacy in education, with a focus on how emerging technologies influence equity and policy across global contexts. She is also deeply dedicated to gender equity in technology and actively supports initiatives that uplift women and other underrepresented groups in AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys traveling, learning in global contexts, sipping on boba, and hunting for her next blind box, with Cry Baby\u2019s being her all-time favorite. She also loves unwinding with her go\u2011to shows and films, including Gilmore Girls, Abbott Elementary, Studio Ghibli classics, and a good thriller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Email Stephanie<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Asia has a B.A. in Communication and Rhetoric from Oglethorpe University, and a Certificate in Film and Television Industry Essentials from New York University. She is a current MFA student and works in the graduate office to support events & communications in the MFA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Her primary interests as a writer revolve around exploring identity, origin, resilience and how the artful expression of lived experiences can bridge our human connection. She has a special interest in the transformative power of poetics through written word, music, the moving image, visual poetry and gastronomy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When she\u2019s not creating poetry, she enjoys cooking meals for loved ones, DJing with her best friend, performing, music curation, traveling, exploring new cultures, watching films, film critiques, eating delish food, listening to live music, curating memorable experiences, being a kind human and dressing well while doing so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Email Asia<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Eva Navarijo comes to IAS with 12 years direct experience advising first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented university students in academic, study abroad, and residence hall settings. She also brings significant experience with grant-funded program management and assessment. As the former director of the First Scholars program at Washington State University she has overseen programming, counseling, and advising for first-generation college students; led a living learning community for first-generation college students; and co-founded First-Generation Abroad, to increase access to study abroad and global leadership learning opportunities. She also trains faculty and staff on best practices for engaging and serving first-generation students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As an undergraduate at Washington State University, Eva participated in TRIO Student Support Services and was selected to join the McNair Achievement Program. She graduated with an Honors BA in English, focused on Multicultural Literature and Pedagogy. She completed graduate studies at Saint Louis University in the American Studies program. She works with students and faculty through integrated classroom instruction and on a one-to-one basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kate has a B.A. in Literature and Dance from Marlboro College in Vermont, and a Master\u2019s of Library and Information Sciences (MLIS) from the University of Washington.
