Because all human behavior is social, the subject matter of interest to social scientists varies widely and ranges from individual social experiences to political structures, policies and cultural systems. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:32px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"desc\">The ISS major allows students to select from a range of social science course options to build a degree program that advances their individual academic and career interests.  Students choose courses that develop their knowledge of social scientific research methods and enhance their problem-solving abilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduating students are prepared to pursue careers or advanced study in a wide variety of fields, such as education, sociology, philosophy, social work, public policy, law, and human resources.<a id=\"requirements\" name=\"requirements\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"learning-objectives\"><a id=\"objectives\" name=\"objectives\"><\/a>Learning Objectives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Interdisciplinary Social Sciences curriculum advances the five core IAS <a href=\"\/ias\/undergraduate\/learning-objectives\">learning objectives<\/a>.
