Support Students

IAS offers many ways for alumni to support student learning and career development. To learn more about the following opportunities, contact IAS Alumni & Community Relations Manager Lisa Olason at lolason@uw.edu.

Tell your story

How has interdisciplinary education impacted your career and life? IAS wants to hear from you! Alumni are the best examples of what's possible with an IAS degree, and your story can offer both guidance and encouragement. IAS graduates are sharing their journeys through Alumni Stories and our Mentor Chats program.

Huskies@Work

Photo of students with WShare your work experience with a student! Huskies@Work is a job shadowing program that connects alumni and students for a “day in the life” in the professional world. You can connect in person or remotely through Skype or phone. Give a student the gift of your time!

Huskies@Work is offered twice each year, during one month in the fall and one month in the spring. Learn more.

Additionally, IAS students often seek professional opportunities to complement their learning and gain experience. Does your employer offer work, internship, or volunteer opportunities? Are they hiring students or new graduates? IAS can help you connect with our talented students.

Share your knowledge

IAS values the expertise of our alumni and wants to share that knowledge with students. Faculty members often invite alumni to discuss their industry experiences in relevant courses.  Tell us about your background!
