Wadiya Udell presents research on care for youth in the justice system

November 26, 2014 - IAS faculty member Wadiya Udell presented on "Barriers and Facilitators of Continuous Care for Youth in the Justice System" at the 2014 International Symposium on Minority and Health Disparities Grantees’ Conference, “Transdisciplinary Collaborations: Evolving Dimensions of US and Global Health Equity” at National Harbor, Maryland. In a qualitative study of youth in the juvenile justice system, detention staff, and community health care providers, Udell identifies the unique set of issues and needs that make establishing continuity of care challenging for adjudicated youth, and highlights the need for structural changes when supporting their health and wellness.
