Scott Kurashige invited to speak at multiple events across the country

IAS faculty member Scott Kurashige was the invited Keynote Speaker for “A Right to the City: The Past & Future of Urban Equity,” a symposium held at the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum in Washington, DC, on October 26, 2018.  He was an invited speaker for the Presidential Session “Dictatorship or Democracy? Thinking though the Global Authoritarian Turn” at the American Studies Association Conference in Atlanta on November 9, 2018. He delivered a lecture titled “Multiracial Solidarity in Little Tokyo and Bronzeville” for Allied with Japanese America: New Stories of Supporters During World War II Conference sponsored by the Shinso Ito Center for Japanese Religions and Culture of the University of Southern California and the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles on December 8, 2018. He was also interviewed on camera for the documentary series “Blue Sky Metropolis” on the history of the aviation and aerospace industry. The series is set to air later this year on KCET public television in Los Angeles.
