micha cárdenas speaks on "Border as Algorithm"


IAS faculty member micha cárdenas spoke in the opening plenary of the International Communication Association's 67th annual conference in San Diego. The conference theme was Interventions: Communication Research and Practice. The opening plenary was titled Border Interventions: The Interstices of Geopolitics, Identity and Violence and her talk title was "Border as Algorithm." You can see video of the plenary on Facebook.

ICA is an academic association for scholars interested in the study, teaching, and application of all aspects of human and mediated communication. ICA began more than 50 years ago as a small association of U.S. researchers and is now a truly international association with more than 4,500 members in 80 countries. Since 2003, ICA has been officially associated with the United Nations as a non-governmental association (NGO).
