Scott Kurashige elected president of the American Studies Association

IAS faculty member Scott Kurashige was elected as incoming President of the American Studies Association.  As president-elect, he is serving as central organizer of the association’s annual meeting in Honolulu, November 7 to 10, 2019. Kurashige will deliver the presidential address based on the theme of “Build As We Fight.”  The ASA is the oldest and largest scholarly organization devoted to the interdisciplinary study of U.S. cultures and histories, and the conference is expected to draw approximately 2,500 attendees.
