IAS faculty member Georgia Roberts, MA in Cultural Studies student Nafasi Ferrell, and Media and Communication Studies major Brandon Washington participated in Franklin High School's annual "Power, Justice & Freedom Through Education Summit" on January 14th in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

IAS faculty member Kristin Gustafson, along with affiliate faculty member Andreas Brockhaus, facilitated campus-level discussions of assessment of student learning at UW Bothell, particularly in terms of the undergraduate learning goals.  

IAS faculty member Kristy Leissle, known in the chocolate industry as Dr. Chocolate, has published "Labels of Love" in the Business & Economy section of The Conversation, an online newspaper. As chocolate comes under its annual scrutiny in the lead up to Valentine's Day...

IAS faculty member Lauren Berliner and students from her Participatory Media Culture class will host a live RPG gaming event, plus viewing and discussion of Fort McMoney at the Northwest Film Forum on February 19, 2015 at 7:00 pm. 

IAS hosted its first “Mentor Chat” in January with alum Deborah Oaks (Science, Technology and the Environment, '08).  Mentor Chats assist students with career exploration and networking by providing opportunities to dialogue with IAS alum and community partners working across diverse roles and sectors.
