micha cárdenas publishes in Contemptorary


IAS faculty member micha cárdenas’s article, “What if we Got Free,” was published yesterday in CONTEMPTORARY, a new cyberspace project covering women of color and indigenous women queering the art world, queers disrupting white hegemony, immigrants and those displaced due to war, occupation and colonialism who breach all terrains. The project, by Eunsong Kim and Gelare Khoshgozaran is supported by the Creative Capital | Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant Program.

"What if We Got Free" introduces Unstoppable, a collaborative project by micha cárdenas and #BLACKLIVESMATTER co-founder, Patrisse Cullors to build bulletproof clothing for trans women of color. cárdenas reflects on the recent exhibition of Unstoppable at INCA (Seattle) and the future direction of her ongoing research and project.
