Since early spring, we have all been devoted to ensuring our remote operations are running as smoothly as they can, as efficiently as possible. Can we say the same about our well-being? Are we running smoothly, efficiently? According to a cross-section of our campus community, people would like more resources to get through this difficult time.

As faculty and staff, we are all asked to be available unconditionally to support others, and 2020 has been a year filled with challenge, adversity, injustice, inequity and disparity. Yet through this year we have responded with extraordinary resilience and compassion. To support you during this time, we want you to have easy access to additional emotional/wellbeing support.
Mental health is an important part of your overall health. Talk to a professional if you think you need counseling or other help with your mental wellbeing. Self-Led Meditations by the Whole U
The Whole U is also offering a meditation series. They are bringing this practice to the UW community with the intention to help reduce stress, increase calmness and promote happiness in the workplace. Find a comfortable seat, take a deep breath and listen to the UW faculty and staff guiding your meditation practice.

Virtual Fitness & Mindfulness Classes
Series on Caring for Yourself through Times of Grief and Stress
Join us for a five-week exploration of coping with grief and loss during challenging times. Each class will include tools that you can use in your daily life, journal prompts for reflection and an opportunity to practice and discuss together in a learning community.
Please note that this program is a cumulative series of five sessions to support holistic well-being. We ask for staff and faculty to attend all sessions. Registration is limited.

About the Facilitator:
Charlene Ray, MSW, LICSW, is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and has been in practice as a therapist, mentor, grief counselor and workshop facilitator for 35 years. Charlene teaches mindfulness in the school, K-6 and facilitates mindfulness-based stress reduction for teachers. Charlene has led programs for school districts on various mental health topics and is a frequent speaker at Sno-Isle Library Issues that Matter events. She works for Forefront Suicide Prevention as a school coach and trainer.
UW Carelink is bringing The First 90, a habit formation challenge. Employees are encouraged to pick one or two areas of focus and join a cohort of like-minded colleagues. Over the course of three months, they will break down big goals into daily actions with the help of UW experts and Whole U partners, and provide the social support and accountability trackers to help you maintain your focus.
