Global Initiatives

Academic Connections Worldwide

Many courses across the UW Bothell curriculum and the research of our faculty emphasize a global perspective. One of our signature programs it the UW COIL Initiative, an effort to deepen global engagement of students in the classroom, without requiring travel abroad, by implementing online collaboration with international partners. Above: Students in BCUSP 131: Social Media and Global Change engaged with peers from the Central University of Tibetan Studies in Varenasi, India.

Apply to become a COIL Fellow

UW Bothell instructors are invited to submit a proposal to implement COIL into a new or existing course. Up to $1,200 in funds, and targeted support, is available for each project selected. Apply by February 8, 2017.
