Each year, we continue to expand the list of faculty, staff and students from UW Bothell who have received grants from the Fulbright Program, the country’s most prestigious exchange program whose mission is to deepen global engagement. 

Fulbright Scholar Recipients

  • Brent Lagesse, Computing and Software Systems: 2018 Fulbright Scholar Award to the United Kingdom to research crowd sensing applications in cybersecurity, with leading researchers from the University of Cambridge
  • Michael Stiber, Computing and Software Systems: 2017 Fulbright Scholar Award to the Czech Republic to investigate how brain cells encode information with colleagues at Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague
  • Natalia Dyba, Global Initiatives: 2017 Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrators Seminar to India to learn about the higher education system in India and make institutional connections
  • Keya Sen, School of STEM: 2016-2018 Fulbright Global Scholar Award to research the spread of pathogens by crows in India, Bangladesh and China
  • Elaine Scott, School of STEM: 2016 Fulbright Specialist Award to Australia to consult on STEM curriculm development at the University of New England in Armidale
  • Dan Jaffe, Chemistry: 2014 Fulbright Scholar Distinguished Chair Award to Italy to teach and research on global pollution, climate, energy and sustainability at the Universita Degli Studi in Naples
  • Emily Christian, Student Affairs: 2013 International Education Administrators Seminar to Germany to learn about the higher education system in Germany and make institutional connections
  • Jeanne Heuving, Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences: 1996 Fulbright Scholar research and teaching position at Goteborg University in Sweden
