UW Bothell has joined hundreds of institutions nationwide in the Institute of International Education (IIE)’s Generation Study Abroad initiative to double the number of American students who study abroad by the end of the decade. Adding an international component to the college experience not only helps students develop global skills, such as adaptability, intercultural communication, and problem-solving, but also shows positive correlation with graduation rates and post-graduate success. Our commitment is to increase study abroad participation to 15% of all UW Bothell students graduating during Academic Year 2019-20.

Upcoming Scholarship Deadlines
Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
Funded by US Congress, the Gilman program aims to bring diversity to study abroad. Non-traditional destinations are preferred and programs must be at least four weeks. Applicants must be US citizens, undergraduates, and be receiving a Federal Pell Grant.

UW Bothell Study Abroad Scholarship
Meant to offset the cost of the airfare and require students to demonstrate a commitment to promote study abroad on campus.
