The Key Management Program helps maintain campus security while providing authorized access to faculty, staff, students, contractors, and approved campus partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All campus keys are the property of Facilities Services and may be issued only to individuals with a legitimate business need and the required authorizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/facilities\/maintenance\/key-requests\/key-control-policy\">Key Control Policy<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Request a Key<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Submit key request(s) through the <a href=\"https:\/\/dlweb.megamation.com\/UWB\/KEY\/DLWEB.php\/O4W_WO_MAIN\">Campus Work Request Key Portal<\/a>. After the request is submitted, it is electronically routed for approval to the key holder&#8217;s supervisor and the assigned Building Coordinator. Please note that key requests may be denied by a supervisor or the Building Coordinator. If your request is denied, contact the approver directly for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After all approvals are received, Facilities Services reviews the request, prepares the key, and notifies the authorized key holder when it is ready for pickup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Pickup<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Facilities Services will contact you with pickup instructions once your key is ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To receive a key:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The authorized key holder must appear in person<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Present a valid photo ID (Driver&#8217;s license and\/or Husky Card)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sign the Key Holder Agreement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Keys are distributed through Facilities Services at the Physical Plant. Only the authorized key holder may pick up an assigned key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pick-up Location<\/strong>: Physical Plant 11125 NE 180th Street Bothell, WA 98011, above the South Parking Garage<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hours of Operation<\/strong>: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding university-recognized holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you require accessibility accommodations for key pickup, please contact the Facilities Front Office for assistance at <a href=\"mailto:uwbfs@uw.edu\">uwbfs@uw.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Holder Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All key holders are responsible for safeguarding assigned keys and using them only for official university business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key holders must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Keep keys secure and under their personal possession<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use keys only for authorized purposes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Never loan, share, or transfer keys to another person<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Never duplicate university keys<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promptly report lost, stolen, or damaged keys<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Return keys to the Physical Plant when access is no longer needed, upon reassignment, or upon separation from the university<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Failure to comply with key control requirements may result in the loss of key privileges and may lead to rekeying charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Return a Key<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Keys must be returned when:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Employment or affiliation with the university ends<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An employee transfers departments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access is no longer required<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Requested by Facilities Services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All keys remain university property and must be returned to Facilities Services. Departments may be held responsible for rekeying costs when keys are not returned in a timely manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Report Lost or Stolen Key<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Report lost or stolen keys to Facilities Services immediately. If your key has been lost or stolen, please contact Facilities Services at 425-352-5466 or <a href=\"mailto:uwbfs@uw.edu\">uwbfs@uw.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prompt reporting helps protect campus facilities by enabling Facilities Services to assess security risks and determine whether rekeying or other corrective actions are necessary. Depending on the circumstances, departments may be responsible for costs associated with rekeying or lock replacement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Report Broken Key<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If your key is broken or damaged, submit a Broken Key Report through the <a href=\"https:\/\/dlweb.megamation.com\/UWB\/KEY\/DLWEB.php\/O4W_WO_MAIN\">Campus Work Request Key Portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A replacement key may be issued after the broken key and all available fragments have been returned to Facilities Services. If the key cannot be returned, the request may be processed as a lost key and may result in charges to the department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Request a Rekey<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Departments may request that a room or space be rekeyed when access requirements change or security concerns arise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rekey requests require approval and are generally billable to the requesting department.
