Funding deadlines are traditionally several months to a year before a student\u2019s first quarter.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>Explore the links below for more information.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tuition Information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduate students taking between 7-18 credits can expect to pay approximately $6,331 per quarter. Students taking one 5-credit course will pay approximately $4,523 per quarter.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>*Rates based on Washington State Resident status, 2023-2024 rates. Full-time enrollment is considered to be 10 credits or more. You should work with your student loan lenders if you have questions about deferment options while enrolled in graduate school.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/opb\/tuition-fees\/current-tuition-and-fees-dashboards\/graduate-tuition-dashboard\/\">detailed rates for graduate tuition and fees<\/a> on the Planning and Budgeting site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">UW Bothell Financial Aid &amp; Scholarship Office<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Financial aid counselors in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/financial-aid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UW Bothell Financial Aid &amp; Scholarships Office<\/a> can guide prospective students through the FAFSA\/WASFA application, as well as answer questions about types of graduate funding and scholarships that may be available.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/financial-aid\/scholarships\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UW Bothell Scholarships<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/new.expo.uw.edu\/expo\/scholarships\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Office of Merit Scholarships, Fellowships &amp; Awards (Scholarship Database)<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Graduate School at UW Seattle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/grad.uw.edu\/graduate-student-funding\/funding-information-for-students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Graduate School<\/a> provides information about different types of financial assistance for graduate students. In addition, they publish a list of <a href=\"https:\/\/grad.uw.edu\/graduate-student-funding\/fellowships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fellowships<\/a> available to UW graduate students.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lib.washington.edu\/commons\/services\/gfis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Graduate Funding Information Service<\/a> (GFIS) helps students learn skills and tools to find funding for graduate school-related expenses. GFIS offers resources on how best to search, plan for, and apply for scholarships. 30-minute consultations are available for students to individually meet with a GFIS advisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">International Student Funding and Support<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>International students are advised to work with international student advisors and to seek funding early in the process of applying for graduate school.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/financial-aid\/aid-for-international-students\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Funding Resources for International Students<\/a> from UW Bothell Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.internationalscholarships.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">International Scholarships<\/a> (external website)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/international-student-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UW Bothell International Student Services<\/a> to work with an advisor for Visa\/residency, and OPT questions.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Veterans Benefits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>IIf you are a veteran, you may wish to speak with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/student-affairs\/veterans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UW Bothell Veteran &amp; Military Resources Office<\/a> to explore possible educational benefits.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">UW Bothell School of Educational Studies Graduate Merit Funding<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The UW Bothell School of Educational Studies may receive Graduate Merit Funds for distribution to M.Ed. students in the form of scholarships. When those funds become available, eligible M.Ed. graduate students will receive a merit fund announcement and invitation to apply from the Graduate Program Advisor. Graduate Merit Funds vary, and awards are competitive.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Washington State Employee Tuition Exemption Information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following information applies to State of Washington employees wishing to utilize the State Employee Tuition Exemption Waiver.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Current graduate courses that are NOT allowed: BEDUC 501, BEDUC 502, BEDUC 504, B EDUC 529, BEDUC 543, B EDUC 592, LEDE 540, LEDE 550, LEDE 560, LEDE 591, or other exempted courses found in the SES Tuition Exemption Policy. This policy is subject to change.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students are responsible for meeting all timelines and form completion requirements set forth by the UWB Registrar.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students should notify the program advisor if they are utilizing the Tuition Waiver.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Process&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Tuition Waiver form (signed by your employer) must be submitted to the UW Registrar at least two weeks prior to every quarter you wish to use the waiver.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/registrar\/policies\/tuition-exempt\">Tuition Exempt Registration Process<\/a>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tuition Exempt student register later than other students. Do not add any courses to your schedule until your approved registration date, usually the 3rd or 4th day of the quarter. Find registration dates on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/academic-calendar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UWB Academic Calendar.<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Contact the instructors of your courses to notify them you will be registering late due to the Tuition Exemption Waiver. Request that the instructor add you to the Canvas course so you can begin work on the first day of class.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">School of Educational Studies Tuition Exemption Policy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Purpose<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The School of Educational Studies (SES) faculty has identified a need to exempt certain courses from tuition exemption enrollment based on the faculty and staff effort in supporting individual students in those courses, and in order to maintain academic excellence and fiscal viability. These courses are designed in such a way as to require significant staff and faculty support outside of the classroom setting, including support from departments other than SES.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/registrar\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/43\/2024\/06\/Final-Version-EducationTuitionExemptionSESPolicy2024.pdf\">Please read the current tuition exemption policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Registration Procedures<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to register using tuition exemption, students should carefully follow the steps identified in <a href=\"\/registrar\/policies\/tuition-exempt\">UWB registration guidelines<\/a>. Questions regarding the procedure are to be directed to the UW Bothell Registrar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Procedures and Responsible Organization<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs is responsible for the content of this policy. Changes will be authorized through adoption by the Chancellor\u2019s Executive Committee and final approval of the Chancellor. Students with questions or comments about this policy should contact the Office of Enrollment Management.
