Are you ready to begin National Board Certification?  This page will guide you through securing your seat in our next cohort.  

Step 1: Enrollment Form

The UWB National Board Support Seminar is scheduled to begin August 10th, 2019.  Program launch is contingent upon a cohort of 10 participants.

Step 2: Program Enrollment Payment

Total cost for the UWB National Board Certification Preparation Program is $2,000.  

Once the program has received your completed Enrollment Form (Step 1), you will receive a payment link via email.   Payment of the total program fee of $2,000 finalizes your enrollment and secure cohort placement. 

Candidates are responsible for the separate cost of the National Board Certification assessment, currently $475 per component. More information can be found on the NBCT webpage.  Component payment due at time of certification assessment. 

Refund and Cancellation Policy: In the event that the course is cancelled due to minimum enrollment requirements, your payment will be refunded and you will be placed on the list for the next cohort recruitment cycle. 


NBCT Foundational Seminar 

Summer:  Jump Start is offered in several locations across the State.  This 4-day seminar, led by the Washington Education Association, introduces you to the philosophy, background and expectations required to certify to be a National Board Certified Teacher. During that time, you will dig into 4 required components and Assessment Center exercises and have time to collaborate with other candidates and current NBCTs.

UW Bothell Support Seminars

August - May:  The 2019-20 cohort begins Saturday, August 10, 2019 and meets one Saturday (4 hours) and one Wednesday (2 hours) per month through May, 2020.

  • Incorporates latest research on teaching and learning
  • Low student to instructor ratio for personalized feedback
  • $2,000 program cost covers all required materials (excluding NBCT fees)
