Equity & Inclusion Conference

3rd annual equity and inclusion converence banner

POSTPONED // UW Bothell // ARC Building

The inclement weather and significant campus closures we’ve experienced over the last two weeks have delayed the work of our students, faculty, staff and administration, leaving many anxious about completing their work for the rest of the quarter.

To make matters worse, the current forecast for next week – however imprecise – currently shows a chance of snow during the conference.

To ensure all who are interested in participating in the Conference are able to, we have chosen to to postpone the Equity and Inclusion Conference, originally set to take place on Friday, February 22, 2019. We offer our most sincere apologies, but look forward to engaging with you soon, when we've rescheduled the Conference.

We are excited to announce this year's keynote speaker, Loretta Ross.

"Loretta J. Ross is a Visiting Professor of Practice in the School of Social Transformation at Arizona State University teaching "Reproductive Justice Theory and Practice" and "Race and Culture in the U.S." for the 2018-2019 academic year.

She is a nationally-recognized trainer on using the transformative power of Reproductive Justice to build a Human Rights movement that includes everyone.  Ms. Ross is an expert on women’s issues, hate groups, racism and intolerance, human rights, and violence against women. Her work focuses on the intersectionality of social justice issues and how this affects social change and service delivery in all movements."   Read more about Loretta's transformational work here.

"Calling IN the Calling OUT Culture: Accountability through Love"

We are facing a tumultuous future in this country. Fighting against oppression and injustice are the dues we pay for the privilege of being conscious and we are honored to be able to challenge it with great responsibility. Loretta will talk about how we can transform the Calling Out Culture into a Calling In Culture in order to build a united movement for human rights.
