Welcome to Spring Quarter!
Let’s get organized!
Just like the previous quarters, we need to make a plan to stay organized in the coming weeks.
What are some ways to stay organized?
Make or find a dedicated study space.
If you always do work in the same place, it will help keep all your study things organized.
Getting this place locked in early can help you through the busier parts of the year.
Keep a planner/calendar you’ll actually use.
Sometimes finding the right planner can seem impossible, but once you get it figured out, it can really keep you organized!
Don’t be afraid to try out new or different planner/calendar styles. Some people go through a bunch of them before finding “the one.”
Make sure you’re all prepped for your classes.
Organize your class notes and materials in a portfolio, folder, or other organizer.
Make sure you have all your required textbooks in time – you may want to double-check your syllabus to see when you’ll need each text and mark it in your planner.
How do I manage my time?
Make a schedule and stick to it.
It may seem obvious, but the best way to manage your time is to have a schedule! Take some time to plan out what you’d like your weeks to look like. If you’re a visual person, you may want to make a graphic version.
Making a schedule is the easy part. Actually sticking to it can be difficult, but if you can keep your goals in mind, your schedule can really help you out.
Check in with yourself: is your schedule really working for you?
Sometimes we fall into a routine (intentional or otherwise), but it’s important to check that that routine is actually working for us.
Ask yourself: “Do I have enough time for studying? Sleeping? Family and friends? Relaxing and eating healthy?”
Let’s review some of the activities and resources available to you.
