Dates & Deadlines

Note: this list of important dates and deadlines is updated quarterly.  On a yearly basis, dates and deadlines adjust slightly, but the calendar cycle is similar.  For that reason, the previous year's deadlines are posted lower down, for reference.

Spring 2018

Students: Year 1

Week 4:  Tuesday, April 17 – MACS Director visits class to review first portfolio framing essay and capstone advisor nomination process

Week 4: Friday, April 20 – Draft of first portfolio framing essay due to PA. MB sends reminder to students and heads up to advisors to be expecting the draft. Instructor of 501 also reminds students in class and on syllabus.  

Week 6: Friday, May 4 – Meet with PA by this date

Week 7: Wednesday, May 9 – Capstone pre-proposal and advisor nominations due 

Week 7-9: Capstone Advisor matches (SH, MB/TC, with faculty approval)

Week 10: Thursday, May 31 – Grad Research Conference

Week 10: Friday, June 1 – Revised first portfolio framing essay & portfolio due to PA (for final approval to Grad Office by June 8). MB sends reminder to PAs to expect this and dates/process for approval. 

Week 11: Friday, June 8—Portfolio advisors approval notifications due in Grad Office.  

Students: Year 2

Week 3: Friday, April 13--Meet with your Capstone and your Portfolio Advisors by this date

Week 3: Friday, April 13—Master’s degree requests due if you wish to be included in Commencement ceremonies

Week 5: Thursday, April 26 – Conference program information/revisions due to Grad Office via Catalyst (we will provide link to upload)

Week 8: Friday, May 18 – Conference RSVPs due

Week 8: Friday, May 18 --Meet with your Capstone and your Portfolio Advisors by this date

Week 10: Monday, May 28 - Final capstone due to CA for approval

Week 10: Thursday, May 31 – Grad Research Conference

Week 10: Friday, June 1 – Capstone Advisor approvals due to Grad Office & to students

Week 10: Friday, June 1 - Final portfolio (including capstone and final framing essay) due to PA, advisors give approval by Wednesday, June 6

Week 10: Friday, June 1 – Master’s degree requests due (may submit starting on March 26)

Week 11: Wednesday, June 6 – Portfolio Advisor approvals due in Catalyst

Week 11: Wednesday, June 6 – Final portfolio for archiving, approved by PA, due to Grad Office by 5pm

Week 11:  Saturday, June 9 – Hooding Ceremony, UW Bothell, 9am-11am

Week 12: Sunday, June 10 –Commencement, 1 pm, Safeco Field (see https://www.uwb.edu/commencement/graduates) 

Week 12: Wednesday, June 13 – Grad Office submits degree recommendations for graduation

Week 1: Friday, March 30, Admitted Student Day, 10:30-2:00 pm,

Week 2:  Date TBD, Conference Program Committee meeting

Week 5: April 26, – CAWG meeting, 1:15-2:15 pm UW1-361

Week 10: Thursday, May 31 – Grad Research Conference

Week 9-11: TBD – Capstone Advisor meeting?
