Kids to Parks Day & Summer Nature Walk Series<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We were so excited to kick off our first Nature Walk of the season on Kids to Parks Day! Despite some thunderstorms in the forecast, the weather had other plans, it tuned out to be a gorgeous, sunny day. Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us! We can\u2019t wait to see you again next month. Our Nature Walks take place on the third Saturday of every month, so mark your calendars and bring a friend!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Volunteer Work Party at Saint Edward State Park<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Volunteers supported the removal of English Holly and laurel. CoSEE interns, Sydney, Kylie, and Max worked on implementing a new flagging project to better track the direct impact that the Restoration events are having on the park. By planting flags before the event at all the Holly and Laurel in the designated area chosen and mapping their locations with GIS, this helps create a more concrete image of the impact of these Restoration events. At this Restoration Event, over 60% of the invasives in the area were cleared. This was a great day filled with community and hands-on ecological stewardship. Thank you to everyone who showed up, and we look forward to seeing you next month on June 14th from 10am – 1pm!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udccd Location<\/strong>: EERC Classroom, 14445 Juanita Dr NE Kenmore, WA 98028 – Volunteers can use free parking passes for the duration of their service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join us for a day of stewardship and discovery at Saint Edwards State Park, where we will be continuing where we worked on removing English Holly and Cherry Laurel last month. All ages 8+ are welcome; no experience needed. Please dress for the weather we work rain or shine! Register for the work party for free here<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
