Staff Highlight<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We are so excited to welcome another full-time team member of CoSEE, Kaylin Datwyler! Kaylin recently graduated from the University of Washington, Seattle with a double major in Environmental Studies and Political Science. She first joined CoSEE last summer (June 2025) as a capstone intern, returned in December through the Clime Time grant, and is now continuing with us as a Program Assistant through AmeriCorps funding. Kaylin has been leading the Adaptive Library and while continuing in this role she will also be supporting additional programs and initiatives across CoSEE.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n

The Native Plant Learning Garden<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Native Plant Learning Garden, originally designed as a space for environmental learning and community engagement, is now entering its next phase that is focused on long-term maintenance, ecological health, and sustaining the space for years to come. The current work being done is focused on three key areas: trail management, restorative planting, and invasive species and weeding. Volunteer Work Party at Saint Edward State Park<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Volunteers supported the removal of invasive Himalayan blackberry removal this month after the City of Kenmore Earth Day Celebration. This was a great day filled with community and hands-on ecological stewardship. Join us in celebrating National Kids to Parks Day! This walk will kickstart our summer nature walk series. These walks are open to everyone (including leashed pets) and are co-led by Washington State Parks and CoSEE staff. The Kids to Parks Day Event is also in collaboration with Friends of Saint Edwards State Park (FoSESP). It\u2019s a great opportunity to learn about the park, ongoing restoration and research, and the many plants and animals that call the forest home. Register for Kids to Parks Day<\/a>!<\/p>\n<\/div>

Please dress for the weather we work rain or shine! *Note<\/strong>: Volunteers can use free parking passes for the duration of their service.
