Communications sent in March 2022:

March 22, 2022 | UW Bothell campus updates – spring quarter classes, changes to mask policies and more

This UW Bothell update is designed to provide you with important additional information following the March 8 message from UW leadership about spring quarter classes and changes to the University’s mask policies.

  • UW Bothell buildings will resume normal operating hours, including being open on weekends. Updated information will be made available on the building hours webpage.
  • Wearing masks will become optional on the UW Bothell campus starting
March 28. However, masks are strongly recommended indoors for at least the first two weeks of spring quarter. For those who choose to continue wearing a mask for a variety of reasons, we welcome and respect your choice.
  • With masks becoming optional, we will discontinue the practice of designating eating-only areas in our public spaces. However, for those who would like such an area as we return for spring quarter, the North Creek Event Center will continue as a designated eating space, with appropriate distancing, until
April 30. We ask you to be mindful of considerate practices such as cleaning your space after use, wherever you choose to eat.
  • Free surgical masks will continue to be available through dispensers in buildings across campus.
  • The Husky Coronavirus Testing program (a voluntary research study) will continue to offer free coronavirus testing kits to the campus community in the Commons Lobby of Commons Hall (UW2) Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please note that HCT staff will not be available onsite during spring break, March 19-27.
  • Facilities staff will continue to make cleaning supplies available in buildings and will resume their normal cleaning protocols. Air purifiers will also continue to remain in place.
  • The flexibility in telework agreements that was offered to staff at the start of the 2022 winter quarter will remain in effect until Sept. 2, 2022.

Please email Planning & Administration if you have questions or comments about resuming operations this spring.

We look forward to continuing to gather and re-engage in person. Soon we will see a level of activity on campus that has been missing for two years. I thank you in advance for your continued patience and flexibility as we all, once again, adapt to a new way of being in community.

With best wishes,
