Kalkidan\u2019s study abroad in Rwanda became one of the most meaningful experiences of her life. By learning about nation-building, reconciliation, and community healing after the 1994 Genocide, she saw how deeply psychology is connected to everyday life. Visiting organizations like Never Again Rwanda<\/em> showed her how young people use conversation, education, and compassion to build peace. These experiences inspired Kalkidan to explore a new research question on how community can support healing in children and youth and helped her return home with a clearer sense of purpose and a wider view of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
