It provides a platform where students can share their achievements and raise awareness on diverse topics from environmental studies to educational improvements.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Student Academic showcase will be May 12-14, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New this year! Awards will be given to both student presenters and mentors:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Student presenter awards<\/strong> (all formats) will be assessed based on their demonstration of experiential learning, personal and professional growth, effective communication, and broader impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mentor awards<\/strong> (faculty, staff and community partners) will be awarded based on the mentor&#8217;s direct involvement in the Showcase for: encouraging students to present (required), participating as a moderator or evaluator, and bringing your Spring Quarter class or student cohort to the Showcase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A <em>Submission Guidelines for Students<\/em> handout, poster, banners and graphics can be downloaded from the <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/1Kd9cAnd9CsVj4r6pecQZcNFtQhLEDLuM?usp=sharinghttps:\/\/drive.google.com\/drive\/folders\/1Kd9cAnd9CsVj4r6pecQZcNFtQhLEDLuM?usp=sharing\">promo kit folder<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Planning for the Poster Session (for presenters)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Posters <\/strong>should be 32\u2033 tall by 40\u2033 wide (same for UW Symposium) and submitted as a .pdf file. Double check the document size when opening in Adobe Reader, go to Menu\/ Document Properties and look for Page Size. Email uwbocl@uw.edu with any questions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you ordered your poster to be printed by Connected Learning &#8211; they are ready in the Makerspace (back conference room, DH-152). You can take a look at them, take it with you, OR leave them there and staff will put them out for you for the poster session. All you have to do is show up!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you need last minute printing, DO NOT order from Staples online which routes large format printing to a warehouse and ships in the mail. CALL the store and talk to the print shop counter. They will tell you if they have the capacity to print within your time frame and give you their (unpublished) email to send your document in. Send them both the saved pdf and the original document (pptx or Canva link with edit access).
