These skills include digital marketing, project management, ethical use of AI, data analytics, and data visualization. It\u2019s a great opportunity for students to explore their interests and gain hands-on experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2025 summer projects aligns with students interested in Business, Marketing, Media &amp; Communication, Psychology, Data Analytics, Information Technology, and Health Studies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students participate in an experience that provides digital skills training with career and major exploration over two quarters (Spring and summer term B). The Digital Scholars community brings together students, professors, staff, community partners, and UW Bothell alumni to help students develop digital skills and a strong network of supporters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>As part of the program, you will:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>participate in community-building activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>participate in workshops on career readiness skills, first-gen identity, and financial wellbeing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>participate in paid summer career-connected experience to apply learned digital skills to real-world work experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>participate in a Spring workshop series to learn entry-level digital skills, including project management, marketing, data analytics, and graphic design.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>explore your career path and build up your resume.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>learn about UW Bothell resources to support your academic and personal wellbeing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>build a social network with peers, staff, and faculty.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>celebrate and reflect upon your learning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>present your work at a fall showcase.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Digital Scholars program shares UW Bothell\u2019s values of inclusion and diversity as core components of our mission to support students and educators within the UW Bothell community. To quote from UW Bothell\u2019s commitment to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/odei\">inclusion and diversity<\/a>, our work begins with the acceptance and celebration of the differences that are represented through the many diverse and minoritized communities on our campus and in the surrounding community. We recognize that we are bound together in a collective experience and that our actions impact all in our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to apply<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-highlight-paragraph-grey-background\">*<strong>2026 update<\/strong>: Applications are closed and on hold indefinitely until new funding is established.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The online application asks you to share information about you and your background, and respond to these four questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Why do you want to participate in the program?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What about the program aligns with your academic interests and\/or aspirations for future careers?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How do you expect your participation in the program contributes to your growth and development as a UW Bothell student?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Digital Scholars program&#8217;s first learning goal is to &#8220;empower students to explore their first-generation identities as they navigate systemic opportunities and challenges in social, university, and career scenarios.&#8221; Please share: 1) Your story about how you identify as a first-generation college student; 2) Your current expectations for the successes and challenges you will encounter in your university experience.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Applicant criteria<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The cohort is open to all students from any discipline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First or second year on UW Bothell\u2019s campus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> First-generation college students* who identify as first in their family to graduate from college. Neither parent nor guardian has completed a college degree.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Internships will take place during the Summer B term (July 24 to August 22) as temporary paid on-campus roles, requiring a
