{"id":23951,"date":"2024-04-17T17:14:27","date_gmt":"2024-04-17T17:14:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/chancellor\/?page_id=23951"},"modified":"2026-08-24T15:38:28","modified_gmt":"2026-08-24T15:38:28","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/chancellor\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Office of the Chancellor includes a central administrative team, including the chief of staff, as well as Community Engagement; Government Relations; the Office of Diversity, Equity &amp; Inclusion; and the Office of Institutional Research. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Community Engagement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/community-engagement\/community-engagement\/building-capacity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tri-campus capacity-building effort<\/a> launched in 2022, faculty and staff community engagement leads at each of the Bothell, Seattle and Tacoma campuses began work in January 2024 in support of a University-wide effort to assess, evaluate and build community engagement supports for faculty, staff, students and community partners. UW Bothell was initially awarded the elective <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/about\/community-engagement\/carnegie-classification-initiative\">Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement<\/a> in 2020 and was awarded reclassification in 2026. On the Bothell campus, this community engagement work is housed in the Office of the Chancellor. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/about\/community-engagement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Read more about Community Engagement<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Government Relations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The director of Government and Community Relations in the Office of the Chancellor collaborates closely with the UW Office of Federal Relations in Washington, D.C.; the UW Office of State Relations in Seattle; and regional government partners. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwb.edu\/chancellor\/government-relations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Read more about the Office of Government Relations<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Diversity, Equity &amp; Inclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Office of Diversity, Equity &amp; Inclusion (ODEI) is positioned as the campus-wide strategic partner for initiatives related to diversity, equity and inclusion.
