Today President Trump announced that the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program will come to an end in six months.As reiterated by President Ana Mari Cauce, the University of Washington opposes this action and remains committed to our practice of welcome and inclusion.

We are awaiting direction from the Trump administration regarding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. What is clear, however, is that the UW’s policies regarding immigration status have not and will not change.

 I am pleased to announce the launch of a campus‐wide initiative against sexual assault and relationship violence. If UW Bothell is going to be a welcoming and inclusive community that embraces diversity as one if its core values, we need to do more. At UW Bothell, we  will do more by listening to, believing in and supporting all survivors.

The University of Washington Bothell stands with international scholars and students affected by President Trump’s executive order banning immigration from seven nations. I echo President Ana Mari Cauce’s recommendation to our community members from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen to avoid international travel at this time.
