Elcano Project 



Software Engineer 


  • Modify Arduino code for an existing subsystem: e.g. localization, obstacle detection, route finding, vehicle control.
  • System integration, documentation and testing.
  • Work with team to implement autonomous trike behaviors.
  • Periodically check code into repository.
  • Attend weekly meetings.
  • Write reports and documentation as required.


  • Student in computer science or engineering with good knowledge of C/C++ programming.
  • Ability to use github code repository.
  • Ability to work with a team and write documentation.

Electronic Technician


  • Layout, build and test printed circuit boards using Eagle CAD.
  • PCBs will be required to interface with Arduino microprocessors.
  • Ensure reliable wiring of the entire vehicle.
  • Attend weekly meetings.
  • Write reports and documentation as required.
  • Student in electrical or computer engineering.
  • Knowledge of digital electronics and ability to use Eagle CAD.
  • Ability to work with a team.

Both positions have rolling deadlines, opening for winter quarter

Both positions pay $15/hr
