Position Descriptions and Requirements:

Assist in conducting scientific in-vitro laboratory studies of the performance of EKOS products and product concepts for the ultrasound enhancement of drug delivery in humans.                                                                                                                                          

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing scientific methods to reproducibly model the human thrombolysis process in vitro.  Use these methods to define “standard” performance tests to benchmark EKOS product performance.
  • In consultation with the Research Engineer, equip and maintain the in vitro laboratory to conduct efficient and acoustically appropriate thrombolysis experiments.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining clear written procedures for all standard tests.
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety in the use of equipment, reagents and biologics.  Meet all applicable regulatory agency requirements for the storage, use and disposal of chemical and biological materials.
  • Conduct, analyze, and formally document results from in vitro studies.
  • Maintain awareness of current technical literature regarding human thrombolysis and ultrasound.


  • Currently enrolled in a four year, accredited Bioengineering, Biology, or Biophysics curriculum or related field.
  • Basic laboratory techniques, such as pipetting, reagent preparation, etc.
  • Familiarity with using lab equipment, such as function generators, amplifiers, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Familiarity of therapeutic ultrasound field is strongly desired

Hourly: $15-$18
