I transferred over to UW Bothell after completing my Associates of Science degree from North Seattle Community College. I started with huge dreams that at the time seemed impossible, but as the days passed by, I found myself dreaming even bigger. I knew that I wanted to work in research after finishing my Biology degree so I concentrated my courses to gain all the skills I needed for it. I also made sure that my professors knew that research was my focus so they knew how to help me as well.

While I was at UW Bothell, I worked part-time on campus as a Student Assistant and as a Student Scholarship Advisor which helped me gain many skills that I needed for my career but somewhat lacked in my coursework. The faculty and staff at UWB are dedicated and willing to do anything to help you succeed. Let them know what you dream of, show them your plans and you will be amazed at how much you will accomplish.

The Monday following graduation, I started as a Research Technician at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. I have always dreamed of this but never thought I would reach this goal at this point in my life. I am forever thankful for all the people I met at UWB who helped me become the person I am today. I owe so much of my success to UW Bothell and its people!
