Finance/Accounting Internship

Western Systems - Everett, Washington 

Western Systems is looking for a Finance/Accounting intern to work 24 hours per week. This is a paid position for a duration of approximately one year with at start date in August 2017.  The student filling this position will handle a wide range of important duties. Student will enhance the skill sets needed to affect an organization by participating in meaningful initiatives with material economic impact and interacting with various department leads.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounting process for deferred revenue and related costs
  • Perform periodic drill down of selected accounts to mitigate cost overruns
  • Assist with forecasting and budgeting process
  • Support Accounting team
  • Analyze inventory accounts and ensure appropriate reconciliation to physical inventory.
  • Assist Estimating Department by refining scorecard of performance metrics.
  • Assist with process documentation to ensure monthly account reviews are done timely and on a consistent basis
  • Assist with 5-year plan
  • Assist with all audits
  • Assist with process improvement and process simplification initiatives


Applicants should be Business, Finance, Economics or Accounting majors (undergraduate or graduate student) and proficient in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel). Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and excellent communication skills are all essential to this position. Seeking applicants who are curious, creative, and with the desire to learn. 

Pay: $18-20/hour
