Supplier Diversity Specialist

UW Bothell Planning & Administration – Bothell, WA

Seeking a student for six to nine months to assist UW Bothell enhance its supplier diversity in alignment with the UW Business Diversity Program. The position, to begin in January 2018, will include 15 – 19.5 hours a week, with full time possibility in the summer and breaks. This position will report to the Vice Chancellor of Planning & Administration.

Part-Time, $16/hr

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategic Diversity Initiative Support and Communications:

  • Analyze current supplier spend data and trends with women, minority, veteran, etc. businesses
  • Identify potential supplier opportunities that address the strategic diversity initiative for UW Bothell
  • Assist with outreach to suppliers on behalf of UW Bothell
  • Develop a strategic communications plan about supplier diversity to share with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate with UWB community engagement activities to include supplier diversity in activity planning
  • Liaise with UW Business Diversity Program staff to provide supplier diversity program statistics and updates

Administrative Tasks:

  • Aid in small project tasks, including:
  • Utilizing Microsoft Office software for preparation of spreadsheets, documents, tables, presentations, and other materials
  • Providing timely updates on assigned tasks and responsibilities
  • Meeting and activity scheduling via Outlook calendaring

  • The ability to manage projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Willingness to learn how to manipulate and analyze large data sets
  • Past experience with coordination and planning of events is a plus
  • Experience with or knowledge of supply chains, Supplier Diversity programs and/or other Diversity initiatives is preferred
