02/17/2017 Washington State Opportunity Scholarship The 2017-2018 WSOS application is open! Details: The Washington State Opportunity Scholarship (WSOS) supports low- and middle-income students pursuing eligible high-demand majors in science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) or health care and encourages recipients to work in Washington State once they complete their degrees. Students must meet additional eligibility criteria: Must be a Washington State resident. Must have earned a high school diploma or GED from a Washington State high school or institution by June 2017. Must be working toward a first bachelor’s degree in an eligible field. College students who will have completed more than six full-time quarters or four full-time semesters of college at the start of fall term 2017 are not eligible. Students who are currently in college and completed Running Start credits while in high school, need only count the quarters/semesters completed after high school graduation. Must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) through fall quarter or semester 2016 of at least 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale). The application for 2017-18 must be submitted online by Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 5 p.m. PST and students' transcripts must be postmarked by Tuesday, March 7, 2017.
