The City of Bothell has an internship opportunity in the Public Works department. This internship opportunity will receive instructions and general supervision from the Administrative Support Manager related to the department's accreditation process, standardized departmental procedures, and special projects and activities.

Essential Duties:

This internship opportunity will assist with administrative duties; assists in researching, compiling, arranging, analyzing and interpreting data, developing reports on special projects as assigned; responds to requests for information within the scope of authority and training; prepares, assembles and distributes memoranda, letters, information, and other communications; compiles, updates and maintains a variety of paper files, records, reports and documents.  This position will coordinate sub-assignments for the Public Works Department accreditation inventory, application, and procedures submissions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in college with emphasis in business administration or public administration, communications, finance, compliance, or policy studies.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and maintain files.
  • Ability to research with some limited directions.
  • Provide friendly and effective customer service.  Deal tactfully and courteously with the public and co-workers.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Additional Information:

Work will primarily be performed in an office environment.  Occasionally work will be conducted at community events. This position is required to attend occasional night or weekend meetings or events, as directed.
