Student Office Assistant – Generalist Track

Office of Academic Affairs - UW Bothell


This position provides support to the Office of Academic Affairs at UW Bothell. The student assistant will perform a variety of general office tasks related to scheduling, marketing, event support, customer service and general office support.

General Information:

  • This position is 10-15 hours a week
  • Work Study eligible, but not required
  • $15/hr. depending on experience

General Duties:

  • Assist Academic Affairs staff with administrative tasks related to office maintenance and support, including:
  • Assisting in planning and staffing events including helping set-up and clean-up after events
  • Scheduling meetings with various campus constituents (deans, directors, faculty and students) and reserving rooms on campus
  • Maintain and edit the Office of Academic Affairs website and related webpages
  • Create posters, postcards, flyers, and other print and graphic material for events and meetings
  • Providing excellent customer service for visitors at the Beardslee Crossing front desk
  • Performing general office tasks including: electronic and postal mailings, data entry, filing, copying, answer the main Academic Affairs  telephones, distributing campus mail
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Willingness to learn and adaptable to change
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Experience with publishing software or interest in learning
  • Customer service experience
  • Able to walk or transport from Beardslee Crossing to UW Bothell campus, Husky Hall, and Beardslee Building
  • Able to lift heavy packages and supplies of 10-20 lbs
