The Client Services Executive will act as a liaison between the internal fulfillment departments and external clients to ensure that the background check process runs effectively by preventing potential problems, troubleshooting, and resolving complications. This position will partner with account management to maintain client relationships.

Job Description:

The Client Services Executive’s main function will be supporting the Account Managers, assisting with the day to day operational queries or issues that arise. This position will be responsible for responding to ad-hoc client queries, shaping and managing client expectations, recommending service or preference changes, and liaising with the client and the operational teams to address any issues. Responsibilities will include:

  • Support sales by taking inquiry calls, advising potential clients about Sterling's range of services
  • Liaise with operational contacts to resolve any client complaints
  • Assisting with the up and coming client migration project
  • Assist on sales calls/attending sales meetings including demonstrating the system
  • Implement new clients, creating implementation plans, designing service packages and processes for the client, determining contacts that require access to the system and configuring their account set up within the system.
  • Train new contacts to use the Sterling system
  • Provide ongoing guidance to new clients about Sterling's procedures and services, including explanations of results received
  • Troubleshoot the database, eConsent and the extranet for staff, clients, candidates and sales people
  • Assist in preparing sales documentation
  • Conduct client needs analysis presentations to management as requested
  • Conduct and deliver additional projects as assigned by manager

Skills / Knowledge:

  • Proven track record of success, consisting of:
  • Must be able to analyze a situation and respond quickly in a courteous and professional manner
  • Must have excellent communication and professional writing skills
  • Must quickly learn and understand all aspects of the fulfillment process and be able to effectively explain them to the requestor
  • Capable of handling a large number of calls and e-mails
  • Self-starter and have an ability to see the process through from start to finish
  • An individual who does well under pressure with time-sensitive projects
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to handle escalated issues in a timely and professional manner and remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and respond/escalate appropriately


  • 0-2 years’ of relevant work experience
  • Desire to pursue a career in client services or sales preferred


  • Four year college degree from an accredited university preferred
